Action Speak louder than words

"If you want something said, ask a man; if you want something done, ask a woman."
- Margaret Thatcher

I am sure everyone has heard this quote many times and I think it still holds its truth.

Sometimes we need a friend to help us explain everything that is going wrong in our lives. We get all caught up in the words and forget to value an individual’s actions. All the sweet things, gestures, perfect comment in the perfect moment are just web of lies unless they are able to walk their talk. Do not believe mere words, anyone can blurt out anything they don’t even mean. They would probably not even remember what they spoke too. (Has this happened to you?)

But at times there are only words that you can count on. We choose to ignore the actions and believe the person. This can lead to a painful and suffering situation for the other person if the words were just blurted out. This can be a family member, a colleague or a friend. It further depends on how emotionally attached the other person has become, and stronger the attachment, the harder it becomes to believe the fact that it is the same person who is making things miserable.

If you start judging people based on their actions your life will really get better. You will feel respected, less disappointed, less used. You will feel really good.

Words are a tricky beast that is difficult to overcome, haunting you with their ability to overshadow and erase bad memories. They make you forget that someone let you down again, a few sweet lines of “I’m sorry, I don’t know what I was thinking” is enough to forget the whole issue. And with the new era of texting, this has become way easier. The problem with words, even the most thoughtful and well-written ones, is that when they’re unaccompanied by gestures, they begin to lose their meaning. We tend to get so wrapped up in the relationship and so hung up on words and their alleged hidden meaning that we tend to ignore the obvious.

Empty words inevitably lead to broken promises and without trust in the person, how do you carry on? You deserve the one who will be there when they say they will and can fulfill the promises they made, without much force or effort. Everyone needs an individual one can rely on.

So just do not believe a person who is just about words, believe in how someone prioritizes, how often the discussion is carried out and the things are sought.
